HARRIS ON, EDITOR FRIEDA McGALL, ASSISTANT EDITOR THURSDAY, JULY 22, 1965 100 PER COPY PHONE 2495 PILGRIM INJURED IN WRECK Mr. Ernest Pilgrim, of Darlington, S, C., was seriously injured last Wednes day morning when the trailer truck he was driving overturned into a ravine about 10 miles from Highlands on the Dillard Road. Mr, Pilgrim was hauling building steel from Darlington to Andrews, N. C., and had taken the Dillard Road detour to Franklin. As he entered b series of blind cxirves on the road the brakes of his truck gave out* There was an automobile in front of him, and rather than hitting it, he ran into the bank. The trailer did not get entirely around the curve, making the truck overturn into the ravine. All seats are re served and tickets may be purchased at the Down Town Box Office on Main Street daily between ten and one o'clock or by calling the Theatre Box Office at ^70. THE BOY FRIEND is the musical comedy that launched the fabulous career of Julie Andrews. It is a spoof on the per iod of the Charleston, coonskin coats, and Rudy Valee, and features songs like "Perfect Young Ladles," "The Boy Friend," "Won't You Charleston with Me,” "I Could Be Happy with You,” ”It*s Never Too Late To Fall in Love,” "Safety in Numbers ”The Riviera," and "Poor Little Pierette". The production is directed by Jane Griffin, with choreography by Ken Will son, and musical direction by Gerald Taupier. Richard Griffin is the execu tive producer and THE BOY FRIEND is be ing presented in Highlands through spe cial arrangements with Music Theatre In ternational in New York City. (CON'D, 18) FEATHERED FRIENDS AND RICHARD HARRISON AS TOLD BY THE EDITOR It was a beautiful morning: the sun was rising and could be seen through rain drenched leaves and a hazy mist which slowly disappeared as the sun rose high er. The only sound was the mellow vioce of a man, which blended with the voices of wildlife, heard faintly in the dis tance at first and then closer at hand. The man was Richard Harrison; the wildlife voices were those of ducks ea gerly awaiting their six thirty break fast, along with other wild birds which have become pets of Mr. Harrison, As he sat telling about his wild pets, a bluish cxirl of smoke from his pipe disappearing into the mist, Mr. Harrison explained, "Two or three years ago two ducks spent the summer on the pond here.
